Here's what we do and how we do it………..

You see, when we started off Macro Stone we were importing stone from India and storing it in a warehouse in Brisbane. We set up a range of wholesale clients and trade clients and sold to the general public over the internet.

Our primary focus has always been to provide the best quality stone, at the best possible price, with the best customer service.

I know this sounds like a BIG task but the fact that Macrostone has grown every year through a 'recession' goes a long way to show that we have achieved this goal and continue to achieve this goal.

After two years of distributing out of our warehouse, a client of ours based in Sydney, requested to purchase containers from us rather than buy at the normal wholesale rate. Another 2 of our wholesale clients enquired about the option of purchasing full container lots from Macrostone and since then we have had several more, new clients come on board.

This has given our business a new direction, one that we are focused on growing and now, as a result, at Macrostone International – our primary focus is on being the place that Australian importers, or wannabee importers, come for all their import needs for natural stone – no matter where in the world the stone that you want to import comes from.


 

So……..What exactly do we do for YOU?

We source natural stone products from all over the world for you, so you don't have to.

It's just like buying from a local supplier.

 

We source the product from the best supplier for that product – in that country, we have tight quality control mechanisms in place to make sure that the product is the best available quality and packing.

I have heard stories of people who are 'new' to importing ordering a full container of stone, paying a 50% deposit and nothing EVER shows up, EVER. The supplier disappears…..at least for them anyway!

I know a person, who is now a client that has purchased container lots from us, who was already importing from Italy and other parts of the world.

He wanted to get into the Indian sandstone market and so he found a supplier and placed an order with him. Now, remember we are talking about a seasoned importer here. 

The stone arrives 12 weeks later, he opens the container and it's rubbish. The thing is that he calls the supplier and the supplier doesn't care.

He gets stuck with a $10,000 container of stone that he has to sell at less than cost – just to get it out of his warehouse.

This was the end of trying, himself, to get stone from India. He now uses Macrostone and we handle all of his orders from India.

He still sources from the countries that he was already buying from but when it comes to the countries where he doesn't have a contact that he KNOWS and TRUSTS then he places his orders through Us.

Here's how it works:

You can choose from our catalogue of over 100 different natural stones from around the world, send us an order and we do the rest.

We will give you ETA's of arrival dates and update you on the progress of your order. Also, we have a system in place to ensure you can see the latest batch, that You will get, before it arrives.

If you want something that is NOT in our catalogue, or you've seen something somewhere else that you want to copy – You just send us a sample or a photo with the sizes and finish and we will get to work immediately through our worldwide network of suppliers and find the stone for you.

Once you have decided on the product that you want to order – it might be something that your clients are always asking for, something they can get elsewhere – you simply place the order and we go to work.

We select the best supplier (a supplier who we know passes our strict QC tests) and get the order under production immediately. We then have all of the international shipping organised and we get the quickest possible service we can get from the port of departure.

We will give you ETA's of arrival and update you on the progress of your order. Also, we have a system in place to ensure you can see the latest batch, that you will get, before it arrives.

We keep you up to date throughout the entire process so you know where your container is – the whole way along the process.

When you have relationships with shipping lines and Australian Customs and Quarantine, like we do, it is a lot easier to manage what is happening with your order.

Once the container arrives at port we will then clear your container through Australian Customs and Quarantine (we are registered to do all of our own clearances which means we're not dealing through brokers) and have it delivered to your warehouse or storage yard either in a container or on the back of a semi-trailer – whatever works best for you.

Also, we invoice you in Australian Dollars and handle the GST so you don't have to prepay all of your GST 3 months in advance on any containers you bring in to the country.

 

Compare this to buying yourself, say from India or China….

You place an order and pay a deposit. The container takes an extra 2 weeks than what you had planned and your customs broker and shipping line haven't been able to tell you what's happening when you are trying to chase up the container.

Then, the container gets taken by customs in Quarantine and, because your new supplier doesn't understand how strict Australian Quarantine are, they find dirt on some of the crates.

Australian Quarantine then take the container for a wash and it costs you an extra $3,000.00 that you hadn't allowed for on the container.

Finally, you get the container to your storage yard and unpack it – it's the wrong colour (this happened to me on my first four or five containers) – you call the supplier and, in his limited understanding of English, he tells you that there's nothing wrong with the stone he sent you. it is the correct colour – even though You Know it's Clearly NOT.

Also, I forgot to mention, you have paid in full for the container to get your documents so you can clear it into the country. Long story short – You've done your money.

Then you have to pay GST in advance for your containers and settle about 4 invoices per container, some of which will require a foreign currency account.

Sounds like a lot of work????????    It Is!

Before You Consider starting a relationship with multiple international suppliers or even placing a one-off order on a New Product – You Must Consider This:
